Mother Natures’ Wardrobe
Mother Nature, with her touch of crisp airs
Peers into the closet for something to wear.
A burst of life begins the start of her show,
lightness and warmth in the hues she has chose .
Her subtle change seems to awaken your soul.
Heightened emotions and senses arise,
as a crack in the darkness emits a glimmer of light.
Her next change reveals bright vibrant colors that open your eyes.
Cloth made of many textures, patterns and designs.
Intensity of emotions grow from deep down inside,
As if being a child held tight in her arms.
Your made to feel safe within the comfort and warmth.
She turns to the wardrobe to inspect the next change.
A spectrum of colors, from brown down to red.
In a breathtaking moment she dons her new dress,
leaving you in awe as you watch her showy display.
But a feeling of loss lingers on the edge,
as you feel the fading of her warm loving embrace.
A coldness is felt with the last dress she wears,
dismal dark colors, grey skies over head.
Leaving you with a heavy feeling of despair,
her soothing touch has left the embrace.
Leaving you standing alone in the cold,
as a cloak of depression envelopes your soul.
But a glimmer of hope you grasp tight in your hand,
knowing change in her wardrobe will soon come again.
