COVID-19 2020

I crept slowly in then dropped my fist upon the world. Skipping from continent to continent unleashing my wrath on the people of the land. You never know where I might be, I'm the invisible man, never to be seen. You try to kill me, eliminate and eradicate me. I'm smarter than you; as hard as you try, I'll always be ahead in the race. I'm ever changing and mutating, I will always be one step further.... you two steps behind. Social distancing six feet or more, mask requirements are now the new norm. The businesses, malls, recreation and restaurants all are now closed. The only people allowed on the roads are the first responders and essential personnel. Now people are hoarding, cleaning off the shelves. The economy is falling, stocks decline, loss of jobs and livelihoods ensue. Thus leaving a path of chaos in my wake, But look on the bight side... your President Trump sent you $1200.00 bucks to cushion your pain during this time I'm in reign. And just when you think I'm waining, new cases and death tolls decreased Lighten up your rules and back in I will creep.

Mother Nature with her touch of crisp airs,
peers into her closet for something to wear.
A burst of life begins the start of her show,
lightness and warmth in the hues she has chose.
Her subtle change seems to awaken your soul.
The darkness begins to crack and a glimmer of
light attracts my sight and soul.

Her next change reveals bright vibrant colors
that open your eyes.
Cloth of multiple textures, patterns & design.
Her smile is the sun that lights up your day.
Like a child  being held in her arms,
your made to feel safe in her comforting warmth.

In a breathtaking moment she dons her new dress,
leaving you struck in awe of her showy display.
A foreboding is felt in this new spectrum of hues.
The reds, rust and golds as they wither and fade.
A feeling of loss lingers on the edge,
as you feel the fading of her embrace.

A coldness appears in the last of her change.
Dismal dark colors, gray skies overhead.
Your left with a heavy feeling of despair,
the soothing touch has left her embrace.

Standing alone in the cold, depression sets in,
like a black cloud hanging over your head.
But a glimmer of hope you grasp tightly in hand,
knowing a change in her wardrobe will soon come again.

I come to you under the night sky,
sometimes it's cloudy, other times the stars and moon are shinning bright.

You engulf me in your warmth and caresses,
take away the pains and stress of the day.

Only in your loving warm embrace can I slip away,
into that quiet place inside my head. My body fades away.

Your the only one that can take me there,
give me comfort when life is too much to bare.

Your the only one that I can rely to always be there,
when all I can feel is pain and despair and just want to cry.

Thank you for always being there, each and every night.
The only one who touches my body and hugs me tight.
